About
I am a real estate developer focused on retail development. I have worked with the master developer on a master-planned mixed-use project to smaller NNN projects with credit tenants. I have been involved in various facets of real estate that include site acquisition, entitlement, financing, construction management, dispositions, and brokerage. For those of you who share an interest in real estate development, I am here to decipher the mysterious shroud that entails the creating, imagining, funding, controlling, and orchestrating the process of development from beginning to end. I am also an active member of the Urban Land Institute. Prior to my entering development, I was also involved in real estate banking/finance for a number of years. I will share tips of what I have learned through my experiences.
I don’t believe in keeping secrets. The relationships that are established in real estate last a lifetime. I am here to serve not only as a mentor, but also to learn from each and every one of you. There is no one right way to complete a real estate development project. Lessons learned are key to success and to survival in the business. Developers take on substantial risks, but reap the rewards of their labor.
I try to be extremely open in my postings, and I will freely admit to not knowing or understanding some aspect of development. There may be a better way to finance a deal or to establish a better sense of construction costs for a project. I’m always learning and becoming a better developer, and I will also freely admit when something does not fall within my realm. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I would love to hear them. I will also share with each and every one of you what I have learned throughout my years in real estate.
